This was often a major drawback of using Webmail in the past, but it’s not so much of an issue these days because so many of today’s mobile devices are always connected to the internet.

Security and Maintenance

Webmail systems are usually maintained by third-party providers, which means they normally have a team of experts that keep these systems secure and up-to-date. With a desktop email client, this is not the case.

Managing Multiple Email Accounts

If you have more than one email account, having to access each email account individually is time-consuming and frustrating. You can only access one Webmail account at a time, while a desktop email client system allows you to configure your account, so that multiple email accounts can be viewed and used from the same place.

This is where a combination of Webmail and a desktop email client can come to the fore, leading to a much more powerful solution. If you have multiple email accounts that include Webmail accounts, you could configure your desktop email client account in such a way that it allows you to access and manage all of your Webmail and desktop email client emails from the same place.

As you can see, Webmail and desktop email client solutions each have their strong points and limitations. At the end of the day, deciding which type of email service to choose comes down to your specific requirements and needs.
